Their first meeting came seven years ago while both were students at the University of the West Indies, working part-time in the computer laboratory at the Department of Management Studies. Okeeto Tanto DaSilva found himself genuinely intrigued by Tricia-Ann Noelle Smith. After a seven-year courtship, an assured Okeeto ventured to pop the question on a weekend leisure trip the couple took to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in October of last year. As they prepared to go to dinner, Okeeto, a law student and marketing executive at Carreras Limited, startled Tricia-Ann, a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, as he fell to ones knee in their bedroom and asked her to be his wife. She readily accepted his proposal, and the lovebirds made it official at a matrimonial ceremony at the University Chapel, Mona, on Saturday, November 27, 2010, in the presence of their families and closest friends.

Tasteful minimalism defined the chapel's décor. Tricia-Ann's favourite colour -- pink -- was incorporated into the motif, as floral arrangements were composed of hot pink roses and white dendrobium orchids. Escorted up the aisle by her father Noel Smith, Tricia-Ann was a vision of loveliness, resplendent in an ivory white Demetrios wedding gown (bought from Florida-based Alegria's Brides) that featured a sweetheart bodice embedded with gemstones that also appeared on her flowing train. Looking on quite proudly and somewhat misty-eyed was her mother, Veloris Smith, a visual knockout in purple. Tricia-Ann's bridesmaids were radiant in gold and burnt orange-coloured dresses while the groomsmen looked appropriately dapper decked out in three-piece suits with vests and ties colour-coordinated to match their female counterparts. Meanwhile, Okeeto's tuxedo was made by local tailor Winston Wilson, who pulled double duty for the groomsmen's snazzy wardrobe as well.
