Barbara V. Patterson, of Pinehurst, and Dr. James Daniel, of Detroit, were married in a summer wedding at First Baptist Church of Aberdeen.

The reception was held at National Golf Club. The bride is the daughter of Cornelia McGregor, of Pinehurst, the late Lee Patterson, and the late William McGregor. She is the granddaughter of Mildred Davis, of Pinehurst. Martha Gaines is her honorary grandmother. The groom is the son of of Geraldine Brown and Bessie Mae Clayton, of Birmingham, Ala. The bride was escorted by Torique, Chaz and Demetri Patterson, all sons of the bride. She wore a strapless mermaid-style gown, with a sequined bodice and a sequined train. She carried red roses, pink and white star gazer lilies, and red carnations with greenery. Towana Hartfield, of Smyrna, Ga., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Latoria Sullivan, of Greenville, S.C., and Lisa Cuevas, of Charlotte, also sisters of the bride, were bridesmaids. The matron of honor wore a red chiffon dress with a satin empire waistband. The bridesmaids’ dresses were pink with a satin empire waistband. They carried pink carnations. Jalyn Daniel, of Montgomery, Ala., son of the groom, was best man. Tijuana Milton, of Savannah, Ga., Eric Crawford, of Union Springs, Ala., and Joshua Gant, nephew of the groom, of Birmingham, Ala., were groomsmen.Zaniyla Smith and Adrianna Clayton were flower girls.After a wedding trip to Las Vegas, the couple reside in Montgomery, Ala. Courtesies Tawana Hartfield and Lisa Cuevas hosted a bridal dinner at Love Grove Free Will Church. Nikki Collins, Karen Rivers and Sheila Steele hosted a luncheon at Olive Garden for the bride.
