Hosmer-Hoskin wedding
On Nov. 20, 2010, Katherine Louise Hosmer of Napa and Ryan David Hoskin of Grass Valley, Calif., were joined together in holy matrimony. The late-morning wedding took place at Auberge Du Soleil in Rutherford, with stunning panoramic views of the fall-colored Napa Valley vineyards behind them.
The bride and groom’s families have been close friends for more than 31 years. Kate is the daughter of William and Cynthia Hosmer of Napa. She graduated with honors from Napa High School in 1999, and went on to earn her B.S. in exercise science from Marquette University Milwaukee in 2003, and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a teaching credential from Chapman University in 2005. Kate is employed as a kindergarten teacher with the Napa Valley Unified School District.
Ryan is the son of Leland Hoskin and Kathleen Hoskin-Stradinger of Grass Valley. He graduated with honors from Nevada Union High School in 1999, and attended Sierra College. He is a licensed general contractor and owner of Elite Builders in Nevada County. Ryan received his contractor’s license in 2006 and recently expanded his business to include heating and air conditioning.
Should I get a tea-length wedding dress as my fiance is 6 inches shorter than me?
I have always wanted a fairy tale wedding dress, but my fiance is 6 inches shorter than me and does not want to be swamped by my dress. Should I wear a tea length one (just above the ankle) like a fifties style dress?
Just above the ankle is very unflattering. I would still stick with a floor length dress, but not a ballroom skirt. Something in a shape similar to this (tight down through at least the knee) will not "trip him up," so to speak.
