Creative Wedding Invitations – Enclosure Styles « Creative Insights
As you may have noticed in our wedding invitation work, the bulk of our clients choose to use enclosures for their wedding invitations, rather than use single or loose cards in an envelope. This trend in wedding invitations is very popular, and in my option, very practical because it not only helps to keep your invitation information together in a nice package for your guests, it also creates a very nice and unique presentation for the invitation.
As a result of this, I thought it may be helpful to make a quick run down of the enclosure styles available through BB10 Creative . We do not manufacture our paper supplies, but we purchase them through other vendors and provide them at-cost to you. There is no mark up on our material cost. Enclosures are available in a wide variety of colors, but if we are unable to find one to match your particular wedding color, there are other options available for invitation designs that still create a great presentation and keep your information in a nice format for your guests. How-to instructions:
1. Make the card.
Apply glue to the wrong side of your patterned paper. Center your cardstock on the patterned paper and smooth to adhere. Using a right angle or ruler and a utility knife, trim the card down to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and round the corners with your corner rounder.
2. Write your message.
Write your message on the back of the card. We personally like "Sucker for you," but feel free to get creative!
3. Cut out the octopus.
Using the template provided, trace the octopus onto a piece of tracing paper. Pin the tracing paper to your felt using four straight pins. With a pair of scissors, cut out the octopus, using the tracing paper as your guide.
4. Make the face.
Make the eyes by sewing two buttons onto the felt (see Tools and Techniques). To create the mouth, hand-sew a curved line using your embroidery floss and embroidery needle and a backstitch (see Tools and Techniques).
5. Add the suckers.
