Ticket Wedding Invitations | Emmaline Bride
We spotted these incredible ticket wedding invitations of thrilling proportions via Thoughtful Day , a custom order for Jenna & Jon, bride and groom. Their whimsical wedding in D.U.M.B.O., Brooklyn, inspired the theme of elephants used throughout the decor along with a personalized logo of two elephant’s trunks forming a heart. The invitation was shaped into a large ticket with pink letterpress, gold foil stamping, and sealed with vintage wallpaper for a touch of whimsy. For added fun, the invites were packaged in pink candy striped bags with gold cord. I especially love the verbage: “… thrilling, death-defying acts of nuptials!” which set the tone for a fun event, as well as the bright blues, yellows, and hot pinks used throughout. Love!

1. Incorporating every aspect of the wedding into the invitation design.
It's good to give your stationery a personal element, but less is more. Choose one motif or design element and go with it.
2. Missing typos.
Ask your grammatically inclined friends to look over the invitation proof and read it carefully. You'd be surprised at what you could miss. Take a note from copy editors and read from right to left so you don't accidentally gloss over something that's wrong.
3. Using too much color.
We're all about making invites pop with bold and bright colors (think: a yellow chevron pattern or pink dahlia motif), but don't get carried away. Always balance bright colors with something neutral, and make sure the text is visible.
4. Addressing the envelopes yourselves.
Addressing the envelopes takes time, and many stationers offer the service at little or no charge. If you decide to do it yourself, don't do it all in one sitting. Give yourself plenty of time to avoid making any mistakes.
